... is that RJ is as "sexist" with men as he is with women. What you said about women being irrational and men just rolling their eyes and going along is actually how women in the series view men, and less how men handle women.
Oh, I agree that women view men the same way. But I don't see the men portrayed as such very often. That's more what I was talking about. Not how the two sets of characters view each other, but how the author portrays them. The male characters may act buffoonish toward the women at times, but the story usually makes them pay for it, and learn and grow because of it. I don't see the same attitude from the author toward the female characters. Elayne blaming Rand for getting her pregnant when she was the one who practically jumped his bones? It's cute! Egwene realizing she's manipulating Rand as much as the other women, but deciding it's okay because she's "right?" THAT hasn't come back to bite her in the ass yet, and I doubt it will. Faile holding Perrin to cultural standards he can't possibly measure up to because he doesn't know them? Perrin must adjust. The author often lets his female characters be childish with little consequences. He simply has his male characters put up with it, and their baffled and amused reactions come across as echoes of his own.
I'm not stating gender relations in WoT are normal or well-adjusted. Far from it. But nor do I think they're a symptom of RJ being sexist. Instead, I think its a partially successful attempt at describing an unequal society akin to the middle ages, but with the women as the dominating gender.
I belive RJ has stated that he considers his world to be gender equal rather than being dominated by women.
What;s your favorite RJ comment on the sexes?

Women cannot admit they were wrong and will partner up with their worst enemy against a man over it.
