Elayne too, and Nynaeve didn't think much of her. I always assumed it was just their naivity - Egwene and Nynaeve still judging the world by Two Rivers standards (does anyone else think 'good Two Rivers woolens' are more about warmth than modesty? It's cold around there) and Elayne being jealous over Rand. Elayne, though she would have been raised knowing her marriage was a means to an end, would have unquestioningly assumed that she would enter into any such relationship from a position of strength. None of the three of them knew anything about the political realities of being a weak woman ruler with only beauty and guile for weapons.
As you say, Elayne was jealous and once she's reduced Berelain on her threat radar, I don't see any problems with them getting along, as Aviendha was with her in LoC. Recall that Aviendha was very aware of Elayne's feelings regarding Rand & Berelain in tSR, and given her obsessive honor issues concerning that mess, she would be very well primed for hostility toward Berelain. Especially as she herself was already guilty of the sin Berelain had only attempted, and human nature judges most harshly those with whom one SHARES a flaw. Yet they were still acting friendly enough to creep out Rand, on what had to have been a very short acquaintence. Even if it is only a vicarious sharing of the Wise One's acceptance, Elayne gets along very well with the Wise Ones and respects them a lot. Nynaeve might have disapproved, but she was more objective in Tear, though the sheer lack of anything remotely in common would probably be her biggest obstacle to getting along with her. Egwene maintains her cattiness, because the dreams she unethically eavesdrops on are not to her taste. All she can do is wonder why so many of her friends respect the woman, and the thought that there might be something admirable or respectable about her never once occurs.

Which was why I thought it was appropriate, since he meant to act as Egwene's Warder.

The only issue is that Warders are not minions - they are honored junior partners.

No, the junior partners are Accepted. Warders are essentially personal bodyguards and/or assistants.

Accepted are not anything, let alone junior partners. Don't think N&E's experience was typical
