But plot-wise I don't really see yet why Beldeine should get that dull dagger from Elayne. Seems like a too powerful device to be given to an ordinary AS.

Agreed.

I would rather think at the moment that this points to an assassination on her, probably by the Shadow (Gray Man, Slayer, Aran'gar?), or maybe by one of the remaining blood knives.

Murdered by the Shadow is my guess. "Assassination" implies that she'd be deliberately targeted, and she doesn't seem important enough to warrant that.

If she is targeted specifically, then maybe her Asha'man Warder Karldin Manfor will be involved somehow. I don't think either of them are DFs, but if (say) she were to find out about DF Asha'man plans through something Karldin inadvertantly overheard, and told her about, then that would explain why she'd be targeted specifically. *shrugs*

Maybe the black knife also refers to a Thakandar knife, which might point to a death by a Myrddraal.

Many possibilities...

I figured it referred to the Blood Knives still at large *NM* - 22/07/2010 02:41:05 AM 309 Views
Hmmm perhaps Beldeine will die by shielding Min from a Blood Knife? *NM* - 22/07/2010 04:06:02 PM 2057 Views
That was my first thought too. *NM* - 22/07/2010 10:56:14 PM 262 Views
