I would rather think at the moment that this points to an assassination on her, probably by the Shadow (Gray Man, Slayer, Aran'gar?), or maybe by one of the remaining blood knives.
Murdered by the Shadow is my guess. "Assassination" implies that she'd be deliberately targeted, and she doesn't seem important enough to warrant that.
If she is targeted specifically, then maybe her Asha'man Warder Karldin Manfor will be involved somehow. I don't think either of them are DFs, but if (say) she were to find out about DF Asha'man plans through something Karldin inadvertantly overheard, and told her about, then that would explain why she'd be targeted specifically. *shrugs*
Maybe the black knife also refers to a Thakandar knife, which might point to a death by a Myrddraal.
Many possibilities...
