I don't think they are meant to controll him in someway

Just because it seems somewhat thematic to have them be able to check him if necessary.
Seems significant that there is a Trinity of specific strength women directly associated to Rands life.
Min is the other woman, not Egwene. There can't just suddenly be a trinity involving Egwene to control Rand.
I think those three women were made equal to remove any sense of deferring between them. Not that they necessarily would, but when Nynaeve's around you kind of forget about Elayne. Considering Elayne, Egwene and Aviendha did a few things together, RJ made them equal in one way so that we'd forget about it.
Just that Rand has these 3 women (who have all be love interests) around him and they are all identical in Power. Just seems to fall into that category of "trinity" to me. I doubt anything will ever come of it other than the fact that it's another set of 3 around him. Didn't Linda do a whole numerology post back on wotmania??
Domani Drag Queen in the White Tower ... Aran'gar watch out!
No three women could block him from the Source...

I think he means that it would take three such women to smother him

It Rand had half Lews Therin's skill at the time, she would stand no chance..SKILL was her advantage

Plus, Rand was splitting his flows, IIRC. Meaning he wasn't 100% one-on-one with her.

She was splitting her flows too... she was slicing his weaves of Air.

Explain Talaan shielding Nynaeve then. Or the two BA shielding her.
