She was splitting her flows too... she was slicing his weaves of Air. fionwe1987 Send a noteboard - 15/06/2010 08:59:00 PM

We've seen her do it, and he confirms that if he hadn't done something about it her weave would have settled on him.

To actually overwhelm Rand would take about 3 women of Forsaken strength. At those levels he would be able to do nothing. It would be Cyndane vs Alivia except that Alivia is very skilled - like Fionwe said. Lanfear wanted to link with two other Forsaken to assure their victory if they trapped him, so this confirms what he said. However, if one Forsaken brings him to his knees like Lanfear did, there is an opening for a shield.

Lanfear tried to cut him off, and he stopped her, without really knowing how to.

Take a step back. We KNOW that to shield someone of the SAME SEX who is already holding the source, you have to be MUCH stronger than that person, unless you are much more skilled.

We also know that it is even HARDER to shield someone of the opposite sex, meaning that your strength advantage has to be even greater.

And lastly, we KNOW Lanfear is not stronger than Lews Therin, and therefore it would be impossible for her to cut him off if he was already holding the Power.

So the obvious explanation for her coming close to succeeding in FoH, is that Rand is not at his full strength yet, and FAR, FAR from his full skill and knowledge yet.

No three women could block him from the Source... - 15/06/2010 06:52:17 PM 1955 Views
I think that is total BS, since the books have proved otherwise more than once... - 15/06/2010 07:22:16 PM 1038 Views
I think he means that it would take three such women to smother him - 15/06/2010 07:45:03 PM 1101 Views
Ahhh... I can kind of agree with that... - 15/06/2010 08:05:46 PM 1176 Views
Yes, that is what he meant. Another interesting twist... - 16/06/2010 01:34:18 AM 1142 Views

Well that's a different quote from the one you used before, and this one shows Lanfear not succeedin - 15/06/2010 08:52:00 PM 966 Views
I never used a quote before. And there's no quote where Lanfear's shield is not succeeding. - 15/06/2010 08:52:28 PM 837 Views

It Rand had half Lews Therin's skill at the time, she would stand no chance..SKILL was her advantage - 15/06/2010 09:08:41 PM 968 Views
Skill has nothing to do with how strong a person is. - 15/06/2010 09:11:13 PM 942 Views
So? - 15/06/2010 09:15:01 PM 935 Views
