BR was a lot more obscure in the USA than Europe (we got a DVD release and it became a cult success almost immediately, whilst the USA had to wait quite a few years, making the timing dubious) so I actually believe her when she says she didn't steal the idea from BR. I believe she actually said she used THE RUNNING MAN (much more familiar to American audiences) as inspiration but mixed it in with American reality television.
So I don't agree with that part of Tom's argument. What I was referring to (my title was unclear, apologies) was the suggestion that it was simply better.
