My premise was simply stated and based on logic. If the fetus is human then it shares the same right as any other human to not have its life extinguished.
No claim that all life is sacred.
No discussion on the nature of evil.
Just a simple binary based on the fact it is illegal in all 50 states and in Federal law to take a human life. But, of course, there are legal exceptions to those laws. And as always, the devil is in the details.
To be an atheist is to maintain God. His existence or his nonexistence, it amounts to much the same, on the plane of proof. Thus proof is a word not often used among the Handdarata, who have chosen not to treat God as a fact, subject either to proof or to belief: and they have broken the circle, and go free.
To learn which questions are unanswerable, and not to answer them: this skill is most needful in times of stress and darkness.

Or to put it another way, Theodicy (is god just or not, from Theos god and dike as in justice but specifically moral justice as in custom)
The Problem of Evil
Fīat jūstitia ruat cælum / "Let justice be done though the heavens fall"
are trying to capture the world and boil it down into language, and then turn that language into law via logic, and via that logic then create a form of policing of other people's behavior.
No it is not simple, and saying it is simple is bullshitting and also telling other people FUCK YOU!
For example in my state I can be an asshole under current law, logic, and circumstances. I can narc on my neighbor and get paid a $10,000 profit for I hate someone. I can make their life miserable and get paid for it, for I get my $10k in my little neighborhood of Houston ( hey that pays my property taxes. ) And the person whose life I am now going to ruin is now responsible for HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of legal expenses.
I get to do terrorism via legal code, I get to do something close to yet not quite the same as ratting on my neighbor during WW2 and say they are frickin dirty jews and here they are legal authorities, do what you will. What does my texas law cover, a WHOLE FRICKIN LOT

Yes this is extremely Hyperbolic, but here is the rub, it is FRICKIN' REAL and not simple. It is the truth, the stinkin' truth and not hyperbole or exaggeration.
