Since I have no reason to question or doubt your initial claim to desire nothing more than honest debate without rancor, let's view my reply as constructive criticism to help you better achieve your stated goal.
"Indulge" was such a choice. According to Merriam-Webster, indulge implies excessive compliance and weakness in gratifying another's or one's own desires. Making use of that word is obviously editorial in nature. Concede would have been a more neutral choice, had you wished to be so.
"with other mental health issues we step in and stop their behavior for their own good"
Really? How so? Force-fed medication? Let me clue you in on something. Very few adults receive involuntary commitment for mental health issues. Treatment plans are voluntary in all but the most dangerous cases.
"and we do not play along"
Another good one. Supporting the wishes of the transgender person is "playing along." Honest debate without rancor?
Here's a big one. "Interfere." So let me get this straight. When I of my own free will sought treatment for my lifelong depression, and again of my own free will accepted the medication the doctor prescribed, he was "interfering" with my mental health issue? My late wife's treatment for bipolar disorder was also interference? Perhaps intervene would have been a better choice? Ah but only if you didn't want your slant to show.
Lastly equating doing what makes you happy over the course of your life with a hedonistic pursuit of immediate happiness is a poor argument at best and disingenuous at worst.
