Andy Murray is not really British. Seeing as he's a Scot, and not Welsh, Cornish or a Breton, he does not come from one of the Brythonic/Brittonic Celtic groups therefore he's not a Briton but actually a Gael.

but I'm not sure his ethnic descent is relevant to a conversation about his nationality. In the spirit of pendatry, I feel I should point out you are making a supposition that has very little to support it - being born and raised in Scotland doesn't prove his ethnic background.


True, though his surname Murray does indicate Gaelic heritage through the Medieval Muireb.
