"...the government mandate to have health insurance was unlike any law in American history"...

except, of course, for the government mandate to have social security that's been around 80 years; good luck opting out of that: Unless you're unemployed you pay it or break federal law, and may even get to pay taxes ON SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS! It was always your money set aside for your retirement, but if you set aside too much you may have to pay some of it as taxes AGAIN. BTW, is it only FEDERAL mandates to buy health insurance that are unconstitutional? The feds preventing STATE mandates to buy health insurance would seem, at the level of the federal Constiution, like unduly interfering with states rights, so if the SCOTUS DOES rule Obamacare unconstitutional it will inevitably return as 49 versions of Romneycare (MA doesn't need one, since they have the original. ) Presumably that's why you were so thumbs up about the prospect of Romney replacing Obama the other day? Or is it the candidate rather than the plan that so outrages you...?

I'm not informed enough to comment on most of this, but can someone explain that last line to me?

Yes, did you get the 'foriegn port' part of sentence, or did you stop reading after the comma?

In other words, this is as "unprecedented" as filibustering Bush judicial nominees (i.e. it's not).
