I infer that there are substances that I will never observe but some other conscious being has or will. And I imagine that God observes all, but maybe even he enjoys the occasional emergent surprise. If any of that fits with what you mean by "spiritual substance," then yes.

But not in any animist sense. I don't believe that souls exist as a special substance, for instance. I am just one of many examples of awesome physical programming.
