Always. Which country was it gave women the vote first? Hmmm? Rebekah Send a noteboard - 01/10/2010 02:38:39 PM
NZ's a lot closer to China than the US or Britain. (I think...) Certainly it feels that way to NZers. Probably something to do with the designation "Asia-Pacific".

There have been preferential trade agreements made between NZ and China for about 10 years. We supply the vast majority of their baby milk, for example. We've been selling them our products for years.

So. Ahead of the game. :|

I'm fairly sure it isn't seen as a must know in the British educational system *NM* - 01/10/2010 11:42:07 AM 353 Views
Quite. And certainly not in New Zealand. *NM* - 01/10/2010 11:55:27 AM 372 Views

Well, in university level American history courses, I'm sure it's mentioned. - 01/10/2010 01:20:56 PM 893 Views
I think when a country becomes a world power you need to cover more of its past. - 01/10/2010 02:00:54 PM 886 Views
Depends on how much that past mingles with yours. - 01/10/2010 02:08:35 PM 916 Views
Seems more like it depends on how the present mingles. - 01/10/2010 02:21:56 PM 836 Views
Well. Not so much. - 01/10/2010 02:28:55 PM 811 Views
I can see NZ taking that view, sure. - 01/10/2010 03:11:21 PM 929 Views
But more important, I would stay, is understanding your own country - 01/10/2010 02:34:22 PM 986 Views
That last certainly seems to be NZ's point of view. *NM* - 01/10/2010 02:34:59 PM 383 Views
