Again, the original context of this discussion was urban. Deadsy was an a relatively urban area from what I understand, my response was geared towards urban cyclists and tim's flaming post of bull was concerned with urban cyclists as well. I don't really see a problem with rural cyclists or even suburban cyclists going for a bike ride in their neighborhood/farm. It's the ones who ride around busy cities or roads that are going to get themselves killed.
All of my replies have been about urban cycling. That reading doesn't change anything I've said.
Tim's "flaming post of bull" was sensible, factual, and much smarter than anything you've written in this thread. Cycling isn't just for recreation. Cycling is a valid, sensible form of transportation. Just because you don't agree doesn't mean it isn't true.
