When posts are put on the home page, reply notification stops working

As the title says, when a review is edited by an admin and put on the front page, I stop getting e-mail notifications of replies.
I do not know whether this happens with all admin edits of posts, or just in this particular instance.

I'm trying to remember to tick the box from now on when I put posts on the front page. *NM*
