As fascinating as it may be, I think that the current state of Africa is very depressing all around. People used to say Kenya was better, but then they had all that election-related violence.

Kenya's been up and down since gaining independence.

The quietest places have been Lesotho and Swaziland, and even they are rife with poverty, etc.
