I usually try to comment on them, just because I always feel a little silly for posting a review when no one comments on mine. I'd even settle for people arguing, just to make it feel a little more worthwhile

I've done probably ten here so far, and I really enjoy posting them. I've been doing my review blog The Intelli-Gent Reviews as a sort of writing exercise, something to get me feeling positive about my writing before I dive into writing chapters of my own novel. It's been fun, but I've found lately that I don't have as much time to read as I would like. I'd love to be able to post a review every two or three days, but I'm finding now that books are taking me several weeks to read, and that just doesn't work for a blog. Luckily, it does work for this website for the most part, since others are contributing reviews. Now...if someone were interested in co-writing for my blog, that would be just awesome.
Heh.
I think people pretty much hit the nail on the head. It's not really something that you can easily comment on, other than to say, "good job." That's always appreciated, but doesn't make for much of a debate.
Well. I think that reviews shouldn't necessarily generate discussion. I would like to seem more people saying Thanks or indicating interest, and really that's what this was about.
I'd say that the thing that site should do is create a seperate Review tab, so that people can go in and check what's going on. I'm thinking something like the writers board at the old site, where the reviews have to be reviewed (wow, that sounds weird) by an Admin before they're posted. That way people wouldn't miss them, it would be easier to put them in alphabetical order, etc. That's what I'd like to see, but it sounds like a fair amount of work, so I'm not holding my breath.
That's definitely on the cards.
Rebekah and Jacob, you guys are doing great. Whatever happens, happens. If you're looking to increase traffic to the site in general, I'd say use the popularity of wotmania and the 1 million page views in X number of days as a reason to contact publishers and request review copies. Hell, if you mailed them out to some of the more active review bloggers, that would be even cooler. I'm dreaming a little big there, but it wouldn't be all THAT hard to get review copies for at least the two of you, since the site does have some sway with readers.
Either way, you guys rock!
Thanks, Brycey.

I am rather idiosyncratic about such things.
