View original postI happened to pick up Lies a few weeks ago. Then I read Red Seas. By the time I finished that and looked on Amazon, the new book was available for preorder and delivery the next day! So, for once, I didn't have to suffer years of waiting.

The author has seriously bad depression and goes through periods where he is very unproductive to the extent that I don't think he worked Republic of Thieves for more than a year at one point.
He's apparently in good form at the moment, but his marriage broke up around a year or two back when he was at the height of his struggles.
