Even though I've still not read any non-WoT Sanderson, I think that's as good a suggestion as any... that or aSoIaF, despite its being unfinished, but there are of course some people who loathe aSoIaF so maybe we can get more of a consensus behind Sanderson. Plus, aSoIaF has been hot for over ten years, and those who are interested have analyzed it in great detail over the years as it is.
If ASoIaF was chosen I'd not be taking part for a start.
There's definitely tons of other series that could work, but they'd have still less consensus and would be still less universally read.
