More garbage. Narg Send a noteboard - 02/04/2010 11:59:13 PM
Instead of sounding like a child trying to impress his friends by making fun of a movie, he now sounds like a professor (unsurprisingly) trying to wow his young class with his witty criticism of some hand picked passages.

Aside from his absolutely shallow and unthinking review of the story, his critique of the above mentioned passages reads like a guy trying in vain to get a laugh. With even a little bit of thought it is easy to understand what RJ means in each of the cited passages (the only exception IMO is the crying woman/empty bucket passage). The man must try be as uncomprehending as possible when he reads these passages so that he can try to make funny sarcastic comments about them. For instance, getting bashed between the eyes with a stick is a shocking experience. All at once you go from feeling normal to feeling intense pain and sudden dizziness. The heat of the waste is so powerful that it is shocking to the senses to suddenly go from the relative cool of tear to the inferno of the waste; the sudden shock to the senses is like being hit with a stick between the eyes. The sweat then comes because of the heat. If Roberts couldn't understand that on the first pass then he is the one with the problem. The other phrases were no more difficult to understand than that one.

Rather than actually attempting to give a meaningful and well thought out review of the book, Roberts prefers again to try his hand at making shallow attempts at humor at RJs expense. This man's "book reviews" are drivel in every sense of the word.
A little learning is a dangerous thing.
