I didn't mind this book too much - though I admit most of his points are valid. When I get to this book in my re-reads I know there are still two quite books to come and that probably explains my tolerance of the reviewer's gripes.
I am currently re-reading POD - and god is it a slog. I am 230 pages in and sod all has really happened so far. For those that haven't re-read this book for a while, it is the beginning of the "Oh, Faile, I must rescue my Faile. What would I do without my Faile etc etc." S**t.
And I cannot believe the amount of time that is spent describing the journey to the Kin's Farm, and then the Farm itself when they arrive. The bickering between Kin, AS, Windfinders, Elayne, Nynaeve, Aviendha. Oh, God, it is too tedious for words. (I appreciate the irony of my rant.)
Anyway, I just had to get this off my chest.
