Supposing infinite turnings, when the world was created, it had to extend infinitely in both directions, so that it would have neither beginning nor end. That means that on the very first day of Shai'tan's imprisonment, the Wheel had already turned infinite cycles.

However, that does not give Shai'tan an infinite past of trying to escape the Pattern, because he is outside it.
