I'm sure he didn't bother to warn them not to get close to her, and since Nynaeve can so easily detect Graendal's compulsion he wouldn't have thought to have them checked over either... not to mention sending a very obvious message to Granedal that he knows where she is!
He didn't use the scouts to find the place. He used them to scout already found place.
