EDIT: I wonder what the fact that he feels the need reread KoD could signify, taking into account that he presumably just reread it for purposes of writing TGS. Just about all the plotlines not covered in a big way in TGS seem to have hit turning points in KoD and appear to be on different trajectories now: Mat going after Moiraine, Perrin presumably trying to find his way back to Rand and running into Galad in the process, etc.
The reason probably is the fact that one of the major viewpoint characters is missing in TGS. Hence, he may feel he needs to go back and reread that character's storyline.
Elayne: See this chin? I will raise it.

Yup, I'd be shocked if the prologue weren't released early. The only question is just how early. *NM*
