They wouldn't have to worry about actors getting older or anything, and it would be much cheaper to do the special effects. I've always enjoyed hyper-stylized WoT art more than ultra-realistic anyway. It fits the whole characters as archetypes kind of thing rather well, in my opinion. They could also do the story way more justice with a mini-series or animation series than trying to cram it all into a 2 hour film ...
