Seriously? Fanatic-Templar Send a noteboard - 27/01/2010 03:55:57 AM
... stop saying that everything makes sense.

That is absurd. I don't need to know why she was being executed. You're the one stating it doesn't make sense, you're the one who should explain why - as I have pointed out, there are a number of reasons why she could have been poisoned, and not knowing which one does not invalidate the fact that as long as at least one of them is sensible, the poisoning of Milisair is not a logical flaw. Trying to find a specific one would be mostly guesswork, obviously I won't do that.

What you have here is quite puzzling. You could be trying to find an answer to why Milisair was poisoned, which you find to be without one, and instead imagine far-fetched and nonsensical schemes as well as imagined loppholes in the balefire-Compulsion in order to answer why Graendal appears dead. You could answer the first question - about Milisair's death - with a tenth of the effort and imagination required to make Graendal live once more.

Kerb had no initiative. He was too heavily compelled, remember?

He had sufficient initiative to operate on a daily basis. He also had sufficient initiative to run after Nynaeve found out Milisair had been poisoned.

But let's assume you're right. Maybe Kerb poisoned the prisoner because his Compulsion was to poison the prisoner, and he didn't have the rational ability to realise that only meant the original messenger.

Uhhh? The woman was imprisoned and totally out of favor with Rand. Exactly how was she to help Rand bring order to Arad Doman? Using her Council vote? That seems little for Graendal to risk so much.

Councilors are in insufficient numbers as is, Rand even figures Graendal probably didn't leave enough alive to elect a King, so obviously it is worth such a minuscule risk to Graendal. The more reasonable argument is the opposite, actually. Since there are already insufficient people on the Council of Merchants, why bother killing one more?
