I actually thought BS was at his best writing Mat. I thought he had a great feel for Mat's character, as well as Rand and Nynaeve.
I thought his characterization of Cadsuanne was markedly different than Jordan's. As we didn't really know her that well, from the POV sense, that wasn't too big of a problem.
