We actually know how many stronger female AS were left on the Lightside at this point in the war. If there were only thousands, it certainly would be more realistic. And as it is said in SoSG, it was a political process: at first only some women supported Latra, later she gained more followers, and eventually all women supported her.

I think if there are any doubts left, if this is realistic, one can already explain this in a sensible way with ta'veren or the Pattern without the need of an unheard of special talent.
