RJ's response was in answer to what happens if a gateway OPENS onto heartstone.
That doesn't answer what happens if you lay the stick on the ground intersecting it gateway at a right angle which I think was the original intent. If the gateway is just squeezing it from two directions opposite directions and there is no angle/slope to move it, there's no way it can actually be "pushed aside". Does the gateway just stop closing at this point?

But who knows. It's in any case clear that the Gateway wouldn't damage the cuendillar.
Right, but what I'm saying is it COULDN'T be pressed out if it was a flat surface (on both sides), at a right angle to the gateway, and being pressed from opposing sides by the gateway. There would be nothing to cause any sort of forward/backwards motion to push it out of the gateway no matter how much the pressure increased.
