That entire issue never surfaced during the entire plotline in The Gathering Storm, even when Egwene gave Elaida the perfect opportunity during their argument. I am fairly convinced it was deemed too damaging for Egwene and will therefore be conveniently forgotten.
Yeah. This is one of the more annoying aspects of the whole thing. With AS made to act like morons just so Egwene would shine in comparison, even if she did nothing other than use the type of common sense that any average Joe should have.
Not only does this diminish her, but the AS and the White Tower aswell. It is hard for me to cheer or feel proud for Egwene when her victories come less due to her own ability and more due to the LACK of her opponents ability.
Not having someone call Siuan and Egwene(since she knew and supported Siuan in this) accountable would be as you say, "convenient". Too much so. It stretches credibility and makes it clear that she won only because the writer wanted her to.
The same applies to Rand and the Forsaken aswell. By making the forsaken such bumbling fools, Rand's victory over them is not as satisfying as it could have been. Still, atleast Rand has the in-world excuse of ta'veren, Egwene does not have even this limited explanation.
She should face a lot of trouble in the next book and have to really fight to keep her position. But I suspect everyone will simply fall in line in a way thats completely unrealistic. This is one of the things that could have been better written overall IMHO.
Was Egwene wrong to berate both Halls after the reunification?

She was right, as long as she never mentions it again

I didn't expect it, but it was absolutely the right thing for her to do.

If the berating sucked, I would have complained. But it was pretty good to hear/read. *NM*

Reasonable in terms of power politics, but still somewhat deceitful.

It was a political move. It was the right political move, but not "morally" right.

It was very clear where her sympathies lie. A lot of it was superficial.

She didn't mention/berate the 300+ AS who ignored this whole facade of a plotline.
