Rand was ready to kill his father, as Anakin was ready to kill Obi-wan.

Datakim is trying to justify his actions, but Rand is cold and uncaring (much like a forsaken). Everyone who described him mention a darkness (actual dimming of light) that surrounds him. That is the concern.
