We have two groups of AS, both enslaved. One group by Ashaman, with little screen time. One group by Seanchan, with lots of screen time.

Fine. Death is not preferable to slavery. But freedom is. The point is that there is no way the free AS would agree to be bonded by the Asha'man with bonds that carry compulsion. Absolutely no way. Even if it offered protection from the Seanchan.

Unless you were asking about the morality of the compulsion bonds which is another matter alltogether.

People keeps hating the Seanchan practise, while barely anything is said about the other group. If you really think about it, I am sure some Ashaman have already asked for sexual favors, and received it as part of the bond. It is just that the Ashaman's bond is out of sight, so out of mind.

If any of the Asha'man have, then its rape, and Rand should throw the rapist in jail.

In truth the whole bond thing is a bit iffy, but at the same time what the Asha'man did here is kinda countered by what the captured AS were planning to do.

The AM did not capture random sisters for amusemement, they captured AS that were planning on killing them all. That was essentially an act of war and the AM would have been justified in defending themselves with deadly force if needed.

However now that the sisters are captured, they are essentially prisoners of war and ethically speaking should be treated well, now that they are no longer a threat to the lives of the men.

If death is really preferable, how come the 50 captured by Ashaman have not committed mass suicide? - 06/01/2010 05:34:55 PM 455 Views

I would think if Mat does that, there would be another bleakness. - 06/01/2010 05:43:46 PM 448 Views
I'm not sure but it is an interesting theory. Good job. *NM* - 06/01/2010 01:39:12 AM 215 Views
