If death is really preferable, how come the 50 captured by Ashaman have not committed mass suicide?

We have two groups of AS, both enslaved. One group by Ashaman, with little screen time. One group by Seanchan, with lots of screen time.
People keeps hating the Seanchan practise, while barely anything is said about the other group. If you really think about it, I am sure some Ashaman have already asked for sexual favors, and received it as part of the bond. It is just that the Ashaman's bond is out of sight, so out of mind.

A crackpot theory I have bandying about in my head

I would think if Mat does that, there would be another bleakness.

Neat. I think we are as a group starting to become more realistic about the future in this issue. *NM*
