I don't think you even need to read a plot summary because the book only has a few POV's. I hadn't read a WOT novel since KoD and I wasn't lost at all when I read Gathering Storm.
Then you can start your reread all over again!
Then you can start your reread all over again!
Sanderson also repeats/reiterates stuff from previous books to clue you in on more subtle things that might be happening.
Like, to a degree where it's going to piss me off if I keep re-reading the rest of the books prior to TGS? I know that I was seriously annoyed that it seemed like 3/4 of TFoH seemed to be reiteration/repetition to "catch me up" with stuff I had just read in the preceding weeks...
Edit: TFoH, not TSR...
I didn't do a complete re-read before tGS, just books 1-5 (similar to your situation) and NS (for the much anticipated Moiraine plotline which may or may not be in tGS). The stuff that Sanderson reiterated, IIRC, was mostly from the later books. But it was also mostly obvious things. I think reading all of the other books, in hopes of getting more out of tGS, won't be useful.
Help me decide what to do.

At least read the plot summaries and KoD first, to make sure you're up to date. *NM*

I've read KoD twice (when it came out and then a year or so later)
