I'm not ignoring anything, I'm telling you how I see it. Yes saidin and saidar are opposite halves of the same Power, but the way in which they are used are so different as to be completely different things!
I see them as opposite and the same. The flows tend to be near-indentical and with some different methods, but essentially it's the same. How can Rand tell Nynaeve how to undo Compulsion if it's just a foreign thing to saidin? They techniques are obviously similar. As I said before, Semirhage uses Fire and Spirit to weave a pain weave, but needs to alter it when using saidin.
Being able to weave a larger gateway with saidin or a bigger air-bridge with saidar gives us NO indication of the relative strengths of 2 channelers... there are too many variables involved for such simplistic measures. A woman of extreme strength in air could vary easily weave a larger air bridge than a much stronger man who is weak in air etc...
I don't think it's nearly as complex as you make it out to be. Most people are just average channelers. Obviously if they had Talents or rare strengths it would change things, but even Rand judges Ash'aman strength based on gateway size. Why doesn't he wonder if that guy has a gateway Talent or is very strong in Fire? It's clearly rare enough that generalizations can be made.
The way I see it a 50 strength man and a 50 strength woman are not actually the same "strength". He will be able to draw more volume, while she will be more able to weave more dexterously. However, they both end up as a 50 because they can do all the same stuff... both can travel, maybe his gateway is larger, but her Skimming platform is bigger etc...
I agree and disagree. If they are 50, then they are effectively equal and can do the same things even if by different methods. He can probably draw 70 saidin but she can use less saidar to perform her tasks. That's why RJ equates the strongest man and woman - Lanfear weaves a different weave and uses another methods, but I'm pretty sure her gateway measures 4x4 paces.
The only real difference we see in OP is where a few people fall on the scale ... we can just agree to disagree.
Probably. I'm not sure why you think Moiraine's Air bridge would exceed Rand's though. It's like saying that Moghedien's statement that men are better at some forms of Healing applies to all men when compared to Nynaeve, when I find it likely that only Flinn would do it better than her in this instance.
