Re: Is there a quote to support PD being taken? Maybe... Shadowkiller Send a noteboard - 12/12/2009 06:46:24 PM

Just prior to the Strike at Shayol Ghul, Be'lal razed the Hall of the Servants, and it's likely that Paaren Disen was captured by the Shadow. This is probably one of the main events that caused Lews Therin to act, or face the final end.

After that they probably rebuilt it, and the world entered a state of relative normality. The Breaking took as long as ten years to reach it's peak, and lasted for up to 344 years. This could have happened at any stage after the Strike.

I always thought the razing of the HoS was along the lines of the Seanchan raid on the Tower. Destroy the HoS to demoralize the Lightsiders and move on.

But yes, it seems likely that they rebuilt it in the years before the Breaking.

The closest quote I can get (and it's not very close at all) is this quote from Moggy, tFoH Ch 18
[To Liandrin] "Do you think that you are my equal, little sister?" Moghedien grimaced in disgust. "Did you stand in the Pit of Doom to dedicate your soul to the Great Lord? Did you taste the sweetness of victory at Paaran Disen, or the bitter ashes at the Asar Don? ..."

All the facts we know are:
1. Be'lal razed the Hall of Servants.
2. Moghedien was present at a victory in PD.

We don't know if this victory is the same event as razing the Hall or not. Anything else is speculative at this point.
