No,,Tuon is far more rigid and cruel randfandom Send a noteboard - 10/12/2009 12:43:58 AM
Tuon can be snubbish, but it is part of the culture as oppossed to Elayne, who, is simply petulant. Tuon seems to know her role, and accepts the sacrifices of her role, almost fatalistically.

You obviously forget Tuon's firm belief that she should be the ultimate ruler of all the lands. Elayne is satisfied with ruling her homeland. In addition, you ignore Tuon's rigid world view that completely ignores inconvenient facts that don't match her world view. For instance, her fanatic fear and hatred of unleashed channelers. What about her unprovoked attack on Tar Valon and sending in assassins there, to attack, murder and enslave women who have never lifted a finger against her, and whose only "crime" was their ability to channel?

Now compare that to Elayne's complete dedication to the good of her people and homeland and her caring and compassionate manner of ruling. Is she without faults? No, but she is a far better and more humane ruler than Tuon, who I hope will *finally* get her comeuppance in the next book. She has the potential to become a good ruler, but for the moment is a ruthless tyrant, putting even Rand to shame
