I enjoyed reading Egwene, but I did have the uncomfortable feeling that she was being turned into a superhero. RJ meant that for her, I think, but I also think he would have aimed for it with more subtlety. Maybe not. I did really like reading the scenes though, and I don't mind much. After all, I imagine that all of the main characters are going to have their heroic moments in the time up to the Battle- how else will they become the characters of myth then the wheel does the turning?
And I got my hopes up much too far for Semi. I don't know what else they would have intended for her, but I didn't like that she was trivialized. Not fun to read.
