Moridin offered her #2 because... Nameless Ashaman Send a noteboard - 01/12/2009 11:52:34 PM
What was the point of her random gaining of an angreal?
Did she kill Asmo?
What was the point of her alliance with Aran'gar?
Why ahve Moridin offer her the #2 spot only to have her die without another word?

I can't answer all of these questions, but the reason Moridin offered her a position of power was most likely an incentive to remain in Arad Doman rather than bugging out to a new base of operations which she might have done if left to her own devices (she often spoke of abandoning AD and relocating if Rand came anywhere near her).

It's very possible that Moridin was setting up Graendal as much as Semirhage seems to have been set up, and possibly for the same purpose.
