You could say the creators not immune to the OP, as you can still unravel the pattern with it. And the DO can be immune to it and the plan still work as your not trying to do anything TO the DO, he's still trapped and is not going to completely break free, if he was out time would have stopped, your only trying to mend the pattern. I don't know how it would be done, but I think the TP isn't something to dismiss so quickly. If no one can really come up with why or why not it would work (baring the whole frying thing, i still think thats a bit of a red herring), then why would it not be a great twist?
Personally I loved the scene where he used the TP. And not enough was said about it for it to be a one off.
That it assumes you can achieve a good goal by shady means. This goes against everything the series has shown so far. The light wins by being very bright, not by hiding in the shades.
