Most likely this is what Mat is being prepared for. The War in the South, while Rand, Ituralde and others fight the War in the North.
Wouldn't Min's viewings involving the fireflies taken together with the swirling colors seem to indicate that the ta'veren's best chance of winning would ultimately come if they stayed/fought as close together as possible, as opposed to splitting their command structure in this way? I suppose they could also refer to a single event that will happen in ToM that would require them to be near one another, but I think they deal with their odds of winning the conflict as a whole.
