And when it was absolutely necessary he did allow for it but...

For one thing, I have no reason to believe Moridin would die if Rand did. For another, Shai'tan would never allow his plans for victory to be hindered by Moridin's desire for survival. And finally, Moridin has no desire for survival - he wants everything to cease to exist, and if killing Rand would achieve that, he would be in o way reluctant to do so, even if it did kill him. Being alive or dead is only a characteristic that can be applied to things that exist.
It also brought him his first sworn Aes Sedai, and essentially marks the end of Aes Sedai trying to bring him to heel for the White Tower.
No disasters have appened to the Shadow by Rand's capture. Freed or not Rand's capture by Elaida benefited the Shadow. Either by turning him against AS even more or having him under lock and key.
It also brought him his first sworn Aes Sedai, and essentially marks the end of Aes Sedai trying to bring him to heel for the White Tower.
Just because Rand dies doesn't mean it can't somehow be turned to the Patterns advantange(There is at least one theory of the Dragon called forth by the Horn of Valere). And if Moridin dies at the wrong time he can't really stop or properly help the DO stop Rand in his signature fashion. If he doesn't defeat Rand before dying then he might be reborn which is contrary to what he wants. Also in another fashion if they die then the happy accident of them being linked will be dissolved.
Also a few sworn AS hardly match up against all other AS being appalled that such sisters swore and suspecting compulsion. And that suspicion hardly makes the difference between not trying to control him and being an ally
What will be the punishment for Moridin for allowing Rand to do what he did?

Given that LTT was more scared of the TP than of killing Min, I doubt the DO didn't intend it. *NM*

How do we know it wasn't part of the DO's plan?

That presumes that Moridin KNEW that Rand could access the True Power through their link...

You're assuming that Rand channeled the TP through Moridin

You are correct.

Well, it was win-win for the Shadow.

The Shadow aka Moridin doesn't want Rand dead because he might die with him

I agree, I think the Dark One DID give Rand permission to use the TP

I thought Rand was so desperate that he reached the True Power alone.
