Your basic problem is that you seem to think a gateway HAS to be opened RIGHT NEXT to the channeler. Let me help you out.

Once you know the place, you don't need to be right AT the place to make a gateway there.

You can make a gateway as far as you can make a weave, as long as you KNOW THE GROUND.

So you spend some time at a spot until you know it. Then you move a half a mile or so away from it.

Then you make a gateway there.
