There's always more than one way for a story to "logically" progress

For example, Semi could have simply been a bit pissed at her treatment- a tightening of her lips, a glint in her eye, but not her pathetic raving.
Or she could have not raved, and then later on she could have fended off Rand for a small amount of time, and tried to run away. Rand would have stalked after her, filled with the True Power. She'd be cowering in fear, and finally start to beg for her life since she knew Rand would use balefire. Then Rand would emotionlessly kill her.
Or she could have not been so idiotic as to try to trap Rand in the first place with almost no support.
Or Semi could have freaked out Cadsuane- that'd be believable, they're both feared figures, if Semi can break, theoretically so could Cadsuane.
And that's just the off-the-cuff ideas of a guy at 3am.
My point is saying that the Semi plot was good because it was "moral" and "logical" is ridiculous. The first is completely irrelevant considering the grand scope of the series, and the second is just wrong.

I amuse myself.
Semirhage vs Cadsuane - in Sanderson's words...

Oh, totally- but humans can act in more than one way. "Real" humans can be terrifying, too!

Nobody's even tried to kill them since Ishamael died, until he gave the order again in KoD.

It'd be harder to kill them now as they have come into their own power
