But enough so that when I read the lines 'I am of the Black Ajah', I knew there was a catch immediately. My theory was one of a set of three I wrote on Verin after very carefully going through all her scenes in 2001. The first ruled out her being Black Ajah, but in the conventional way that her cause wasn't to serve the shadow. I predicted that her mistake all those years ago was an encounter with the Black she barely got away with. The second was how her theory was nothing to do with the Dragon, which was the main theory at the time. The third was on how her plan was that she was creating a very long list of Black Ajah to be used for some time in the near future with a score of quotes to back it up. I did expect Verin to go straight back to the Tower after her disappearance and purge the Black Ajah with the help of either Egwene and/or the hunters. The biggest problem in my conclusion was why she had not unearthed them already, for which several explanations were given. I didn't expect that she would be fully able to infiltrate them by joining the Black, but of course we didn't know about the 'hour of death' clause.
