I question the morality of this because we've seen how many ways the Dark One and his followers have for forcibly recruiting innocents against their will.
According to RJ, people who are turned against their will darken in spirit and soul to the point that nothing good ever comes from them again. They're irretrievably evil, much like Trollocs or anything else touched by the True Power. You wouldn't even recognise the original person.
