Mainly connected with some crazy theories from years ago on how the Black Ajah hunters could be Mesaana.
But there would also be a major flaw that, if she had sworn on the Oath Rod, she would be cutting her life in half knowingly and also binding herself to never use the One Power as a weapon. Without any Black Ajah in the Tower itself and her in deep whatnot with the DO and SH already, she is facing certain death or a mindtrap. Compounding her failure to protect the Blacks would be almost suicidal. And Mesaana was never one of those forsaken with great strength of mind.

Inverted illusion should do the trick and then the oath rod would truly be defeated.

All she has to do is say "not" during her oath so quietly that nobody else can hear *NM*

Cutting lifespan 1/2 is a small price compared to promised eternity by DO, provided DO wins.
