Are you implying that before his descent into madness, Rand was perfect?
Why do you think characters like Wolverine, Anomander Rake, the Batman from Dark Knight, etc. etc. are so popular?

I loathe Anomander Rake. He is too... perfect. Did you miss the part where [Toll the Hounds spoilers] he's a martyr bearing a kickass magic sword-shaped cross that bears the weight of all those he has slain in his attempts to save a world from Chaos? And then he sacrifices himself to himself on his own sword so that he can lead the lost souls through the Hell of Chaos and emerge to redemption on the other side? The guy is Jesus Christ. And I don't mean a parallel to Jesus Christ like Rand is, I mean an actual Jesus Christ. And he didn't even have the tragic flair of Itkovian.

Obi Wan is boring. Anakin is exciting.

Anakin is a horrible little brat who I would purge from my memory if I could, because his very existence desecrates one of the most awesome villains of all time. And Obi-Wan is awesome at all times.

A hero that stands on the border between good and evil, and has to fight temptation is more enjoyable to read about than Baelor the Blessed.

As a Lord of the Rings fan, I say to you: No.

Now look what you've done. You've forced me to agree with Sidious.

I loved Dark Rand. I agree, I wish he was around longer. Should've come out earlier in the series. - 13/11/2009 03:23:59 PM 566 Views

Reading about a saint is boring. Reading about an imperfect hero is exciting. - 13/11/2009 04:38:24 PM 487 Views

You're right. But I'm very angry with the writers for portraying Egwene in such a positive way. - 13/11/2009 07:18:10 PM 526 Views
