What would have happened if Siuan had managed to bring Sheriam in. That would have been quite the coup for the Shadow.
Or... maybe Sheriam wouldn't have gone over. She clearly doesn't believe in the DO's cause. Maybe the power to come from being the woman who found and helped the DR would have been enough for her.
Unless, of course, she had already been recruited by Merean.

Unless, of course, she had already been recruited by Merean.
That is, of course, assuming that she hadn't been recruited as an Accepted. But from her POV about joining only to get ahead in Aes Sedai politics makes me think that it was something she had gotten into some time after becoming Aes Sedai. I would think that if she had known that the Dragon had been reborn that she would realize that the Last Battle was coming and that she would have to actually choose a side. She certainly didn't seem happy about the Last Battle coming and her fighting for the DO.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
Did Moiraine know about Verin?

I think she had a pretty good idea that Verin was Black Ajah, but not definite.

I think she saw Verin for someone with an agenda all her own and different than the Tower's. *NM*
