Personally I felt the first half of the book was truer to RJ. Some of the more powerful scenes of the second half felt weaker than they should. The writing in these parts reminded me of a short story from the Tor site, by Sanderson called Firstborn.
Stating this, I feel my favourite scene of the book was Rand chocking Min and grabbing the True Power. I could not believe the intensity, I was thinking "my god, he's really gonna do it, he's going to kill her".

My favorite part was Rand almost killing Tam to his travel to Dragon Mount and his revelation with the help of Lews Therin of how to become more human.
Other honorable mentions are: Rand almost kill min. Rand finally getting something out of Cadsuane other than she's emotionless, infallible and omnipotent, which has been what we've seen of her up until this book. And also the insane people attacking mat & co. it reminded me of '28days later' or 'Left for dead' or some other zombie movie/game.
